Flavours of the month

This was a week of mixed emotions for what is currently the best band in the world and their fans. Today Ants From Up There, the brilliant second album of Black Country, New Road, was released. However, earlier this week singer Isaac Wood announced that, due to mental health issues, he decided to leave the band. Last month our own Stromae brought up that difficult topic in his moving new single 'L'enfer' and sparked debate across Europe. Both artists are in the two top positions for this month's list. Another brilliant French song is at number 3. The rest of the top 10 features more interesting indie and postpunk, from UK, Germany and Canada. And it seems like the CAPITAL LETTERS IN BAND NAMES are back in fashion. What year is this? 2016? Antwerp-based rapper Shaka Shams just won De Nieuwe Lichting, do check out his winning song. For the first time we have spoken word artist Kae Tempest in our list, with a stunning collaboration with ex Brockhampton member Kevin Abstract. And lo and behold, Red Hot Chili Peppers is back, including John Frusciante. Also, there will be a trillion album releases this month. Let February come!
