Flavours of the month

Lots of new post-punk to get really excited about. Lucky me. There's The Horrors, who continue to follow the road they took with 'Still Life', there's Protomartyr, Makthaverskan, and of course the Belgian kings of this month's list: Fornet, young rockers who've clearly listened to The Fall. Like a lot. The War On Drugs has recently released their new album and it's the perfect soundtrack to a lazy summer's day when the only thing on your mind is doing nothing at all. I've made many discoveries this month, the most thrilling of which are Have You Ever Seen the Jane Fonda Aerobic VHS? (yes, this is the name of a band), Wand, ORB, Anatole, PALE | SEAS. Oh yes, and we're all very excited that Steven Wilson is back, aren't we? The new Triggerfinger sounds less like arena rock again. Back to their roots. Great. Too bad they practically copied the main riff from a legendary post-punk song. Can you guess which one? (Of course you can, it's that obvious.)
