The last few weeks an almost unbeatable top 3 has manifested itself. Geordie Greep tries to counter the drizzly atmosphere of The Cure and The Horrors with buckets of sunshine. Yet winter has irrevocably arrived. Still, you can only call this top 10 diverse. Post-punk is no longer the main genre. The bar is also set very high. Many great new singles don't even make it to the list. No Mogwai, no DEADLETTER, no Fontaines DC, no The Murder Capital, no The Smile, no Maruja. The Cure have indeed released their first album in over 16 years and Songs Of a Lost World is simply mesmerizing. They released two singles. Sleaford Mods and Hot Chip teamed up for a surprising collaboration. What year is this? Franz Ferdinand, Guided By Voices and The Wombats made the list again for the first time in a very long time. And do check The Orchestra (For Now). Echoes of Black Country, New Road right there.
